
Merle Millicent Robb, Founding Member
Millie Robb, Founding Treasurer of JCAN since 2014, and continues to serves on the Board of Directors. Millie has had a long and distinguished nursing career that spans over 32 years. A graduate of the University Hospital of The West Indies School of Nursing, Jamaica, she also went on to become a Certified Midwife graduate of the Glasgow Maternity Hospital, Scotland. Millie was a founding member of the UHWI Nurses Association and held positions such as President and Treasurer during her 26 years tenure in the organization.
She is a very active member of the St Andrew Anglican Church, Scarborough, and has devoted most of her retirement years volunteering for many other charities and non-profit organizations in her community. Millie is an adored wife, proud mother of 2 respected adults, and loving grandmother of 2 grandchildren. Millie with her charm and charisma was very instrumental in the success of JCAN’s first walkathon fundraiser; the JCAN Walk, Run or Roll online fundraiser in the summer of 2020.
According to Millie, “It is my dream to see JCAN opening the first Long-Term Care Home in the GTA that will have culturally appropriate care for Blacks and other racialized seniors.”
