By joining JCAN you are joining a group of passionate members striving to assist in reducing health inequity in Jamaica and Canada. Whether you are a nurse, of Jamaican nationality or a concerned citizen, there is place for you at JCAN.
Membership with JCAN contributes to improved health for impoverished communities in Jamaica and Canada through greater access to health care services, health education and investment in the future of nurses.
To advance the profession of nursing in Jamaica and Canada
Purpose: To be a non-profit charitable Organization that is carried on without purpose of gain for its members, and will ensure that any profit or other gains to the Association shall be used in promoting its purposes and activities.
- Promoting health by providing the public with preliminary medical diagnostic services
- Promoting health in impoverished areas of Jamaica, by providing necessary medical equipment
- Advancing education by providing bursaries to nursing students in Canada and Jamaica
- Undertaking activities ancillary and incidental to the attainment of the abovementioned charitable purposes
Full membership will be open to all nurses and persons who support the purposes and activities of JCAN. Honorary Membership may be conferred on persons, recognized by JCAN for their contribution or support of purposes and activities of JCAN. A person will become a member upon completion of application form and payment of annual dues.
