Seniors Day Program
In 2017, JCAN in partnership with TAIBU Community Health Centre received funding to provide a Seniors Day Program for members of the community with dementia. The program will offer a customized range of cognitive, recreational and social activities that fosters independence, mental acuity, physical/manual dexterity and meets the psychosocial needs of clients while striving to maintain dignity and respect in a manner that recognizes their uniqueness and individuality.
In 2016 and 2017, JCAN was successful in obtaining funding from the Canada Summer Jobs Program. With this funding, the organization hired two students for the summers of 2016 and 2017 to bolster JCAN’s sponsorship program. Not only were the students employed by JCAN, they received mentoring and valuable work experience.
