2017 Recipients: Sarah Ward and Rochelle Whittingham

Sarah Ward is a second year nursing student in the collaborative Humber College-University of New Brunswick degree program. She was born and raised in Canada in a Jamaican household with her mother and brother. Sarah is actively involved in her community and enjoys supporting others. Sarah aspires to do missionary nursing internationally which will allow her to provide care to impoverished communities. When finished nursing school, Sarah will continue her studies to become a pediatric nurse practitioners. She is optimistic and looks forward to the path that God has paved for her.

Rochelle Whittingham is a motivated 29 year old from Jamaican descent. She has always had an interest in doing “something” within healthcare. She is currently enrolled in the Practical Nursing – Flexible Program at Centennial College. As a youth, she aspired to be an obstetrician but as she grew older, Rochelle realized that she had a real passion for nursing. Coming from a family with many health care professionals, her career path almost became second nature to her. Rochelle has multiple passions including fashion, music, and the creative art industry; but of these listed, helping people and being a positive aspect to someone’s day surpasses all.
