2020 Recipients: Danielle Anderson, Keda Robinson and Martina Lewis

Danielle Anderson is a final year nursing student at the University of the West Indies, Jamaica and one of the JCAN 2020 Student Scholarship recipients. Her goal is to start a non-profit organization that will deliver medical care to individuals in rural areas in Jamaica. She is involved in extracurricular activities such as being the secretary of the FMS committee, member of the Guild CEAC committee and mentor in the UWINSON mentorship program. She also volunteers at the Leo Club of Portmore. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Honour Society. Danielle’s commitment to Giving Back is evident in her career goals.

Keda Robinson is a JCAN 2020 Student Scholarship recipient whose goal is to Specialize in pediatrics and to continue to complete her doctorate. She is enrolled in the Nursing Program at the University of the West Indies, Jamaica and is very keen on fulfilling her dream of becoming a nurse. Keda is also the Internal Relations and Communications Officer for UWI Banking League. She states, “To become a nurse and contribute to the development of her country and use the skills to help those around with quality care”.

Martina Lewis is a student at the University of the West Indies, Jamaica and one of the JCAN 2020 Student Scholarship recipients. Her goal is to open a hospice in honour of her mother and care for those who are most vulnerable by providing them with patient care and educational services. She is involved in various committees, such as Towers Proma Society, Towers Event Planning and UWI One Life. She is also the Deputy EAC for the Medical Sciences Committee and is a member of the Good to Give Charity. She states, “To become a nurse and contribute to the development of her country and use the skills to help those around with quality care”.
